The Mountain

We introduce you to THE MOUNTAIN – a project that aims to offer a proper waiting shelter for the bus, in the rural part of China – Jinyang village. Using regional materials that prosper the local economy and preserving the heritage and architecture of traditional China, we created a bus station featuring a waiting shelter that improves the user’s experience, offering a more comfortable, safe and practical space, especially designed to be helpful to the senior citizens that create the majority of the village. The ramp, the bench and the roof keep the shape and give reminiscence to the mountain that Jinyang village is situated on, preserving in the design the identity of the village.
