OMBRA Shading System

Ombra is a balcony shading system with a smart home integration that aims to reduce energy consumption to zero. Ombra, which has a liquid cooling system in its content, provides cold air to its users on hot days. Liquid cooling systems transfer heat by using water or another liquid to reduce temperature. The cooling liquid circulates through a network of pipes and absorbs the heat, thus cooling the room. This liquid cooling system located on the top rails and spreads the liquid in the pipes and this pipes wrapped by esparto. The electronic system on the bottom allows the movement of the panels. This shading system consists of 3 panels and these panels moves electronically on the rails, these rails are placed on a wooden frame and the electronic systems are inside this. This shading system can expand and contract. In this way, this system moves by detecting the position of the sun during the day and blocks the sunlight. The sustainable energy source of this product is solar panels positioned on the roofs of buildings. This product aims to preserve the historical texture of Barcelona by using local materials such as esparto and wood.
