Facelift will aid in combating the sweltering heat island effect absorbed in between the spaces of El Congres during the hot summer months while providing an extra barrier in the cold winter season. Facelift is the proposal of a new “face” to the facades of El Congres that will give a contemporary, green twist to the space without masking its history or heritage. The lifting and lowering movement which runs on aluminum tracks bolted to the facade ensures an interactive experience that will constantly change the face of the facade from an exterior perspective.
