Ignis Artpe, named after the Latin Ignis (fire) and Petra (stone), is an autobus shelter on Mauritius Island, Africa. The design of this shelter aims to improve the island’s transportation system significantly. The actual autobus shelters in Mauritius are not weatherproof, well-maintained, or user-friendly. It negatively affects the user experience and does not create any ambition for development or improvement in the public transportation sector. Ignis Artpe aims to be a replicable shelter addressing all these issues. The key lines of this proposal are to: – answer the challenges that represent tropical weather – use local materials (here volcanic stones, wood, and gravel) – designing a modern and efficient shelter that blends with the natural scenery of the island
